About this site

Who runs it and why

I'm a UK-based IT professional planning my own retirement. While working through the decisions everyone eventually faces — when to start drawdown, how much to withdraw, whether higher-rate pension contributions are worth it — I built calculators for myself, because the tools offered by the big providers were either too simplistic or locked behind lead-capture forms.

This site is those tools, cleaned up and made public. They are free, they don't ask for your email, and your numbers never leave your browser. The explanations alongside each tool are written from the perspective of someone actually doing this planning, not a content farm.

What this site is not

I'm not a financial adviser, and nothing here is financial advice or a personal recommendation. The calculators show the mathematical consequences of the numbers you enter under stated assumptions — what you do with that is your decision, ideally with help from an FCA-regulated adviser for big ones. See the full disclaimer.

How the site makes money

Some pages may contain affiliate links to investment platforms, clearly disclosed where they appear. Affiliate relationships never influence calculator results, and the tools themselves will always be free and unrestricted.

Corrections

Tax rules change every April and I aim to keep the figures current (the tax year in use is shown on each calculator). If you spot an error, I genuinely want to know — contact details will appear here shortly.
