Disclaimer & disclosures
The important small print, in plain English
Not financial advice
Everything on this site — calculators, guides, comparisons — is factual information and general education only. Nothing here is financial advice, a personal recommendation, or an invitation to buy any financial product. We don't know your circumstances, and the tools simply show the mathematical consequences of the numbers you enter under the assumptions displayed.
Calculator results are illustrative. Investment returns are not guaranteed and past performance does not predict future results; your capital is at risk when investing. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and rules can change — calculators use the England, Wales & Northern Ireland income tax bands for the tax year shown on each tool; Scottish income tax bands differ. For decisions about your own money, consider consulting an adviser regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority — you can find one via the FCA's guidance, and MoneyHelper offers free, government-backed guidance. If you are over 50 with a defined contribution pension, Pension Wise provides a free guidance appointment.
Affiliate disclosure
Some pages on this site contain, or may in future contain, affiliate links to investment platforms. If you open an account through such a link, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links appear only in guides and comparison pages — never inside calculators or their results — and commissions never influence what the tools show or how platforms are described. Pages containing affiliate links carry a disclosure notice at the top.
Privacy
The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are stored only in your own browser's local storage so they're still there when you return — they are never transmitted to us or anyone else. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookie-free service that gives us aggregate page-view counts and no personal information. There are no accounts, no forms, and we hold no data about you.
Accuracy
We work to keep figures current — each calculator states the tax year it uses, and rates are reviewed after each Budget and every April. Despite that, errors are possible and third-party information (such as platform fees on comparison pages) can change without notice; always verify details with the provider before acting. If you find a mistake, please let us know via the about page.
